On Feb 13th seven peaceful protesters participated in an act of peaceful civil disobedience, we refused to leave the California State Building until we got a meeting with CA Attorney General Kamala D. Harris where we were bringing the demands of The People of California.
We, The People, demand that Kamala Harris joins the fight to end police terror by doing her job and prosecuting violent, racist, classist killer cops.
Kamala did not grant us a meeting…instead, she had CHP arrest the 7 peaceful protesters.
Of important note, the protester’s lawyer, Anne Weills, was acting as their legal observer to ensure that no rights were violated during the arrest. Anne was promised by the CHP officer in charge that she would NOT be subjected to arrest…Anne was the 8th person arrested on Feb 13th at the California State Building.
